About PTT
PTT (Posta ve Telgraf Teşkilatı) is the national post of Turkey, handling letters, parcels, and financial services through a countrywide branch network. Its parcel and express arm, PTT Kargo, delivers domestically and internationally. For parcels sent from Turkey to the United States, PTT carries the item across borders and hands it to USPS for final delivery, making it the carrier behind many Turkish e-commerce and marketplace shipments to the US.

PTT's shipping products include:
- PTT Kargo — standard domestic and international parcel delivery.
- Registered mail — tracked letters and small packets.
- EMS / Priority — expedited international express.
- APS — accelerated parcel service on some international lanes.
International transit to the US commonly runs one to four weeks depending on service and customs.
PTT Tracking Number Format
International PTT items use the S10 format — two letters, nine digits, and the country code TR, for example RR123456785TR (registered) or a C/E prefix for parcels and EMS. Domestic PTT Kargo uses its own numeric barcode. The number is printed on the postal receipt or included in the seller's dispatch email.
PTT Delivery Schedule
Within Turkey, PTT delivers on business days with limited Saturday service. For US-bound parcels the last leg is USPS (Monday–Saturday). End-to-end Turkey-to-US transit is commonly 1–4 weeks depending on the service tier and customs clearance.
Tips for Tracking PTT
- After the Turkey departure scan, expect a quiet period until the US arrival scan appears under USPS.
- Registered and EMS items track more reliably than ordinary letter post.
- Turkish public holidays can slow processing at exchange offices.
- Check for a US customs/handoff scan once transit exceeds a week.
